Keihan Railway
Keihan’s slogan, “Ride Keihan!” (just wanted to say it).
Since I had the chance to ride the Keihan Railway, I decided to try the Premium Car on the 3000 series, which debuted just on January 31.
The 3000 series stopped at Yodoyabashi Station. Car number 6 is the Premium Car.
Welcomed by a dedicated attendant, I boarded the train.
The interior feels premium and sophisticated, fitting for a Premium Car.
The floor is carpeted, and the seat pitch is wider than in regular cars.
The large headrests provide solid support. Reclining is, of course, available.
The headrests resemble the type seen on the Tobu Spacia. Spacia even used to have speakers in the headrests, offering audio services.
But naturally, no such bubble-era features are found on this train.
You can see attention to detail everywhere, like the golden Keihan express dove emblem.
The three stars add a touch of luxury.
The headrest covers are embroidered with “PREMIUM CAR.”
Yes, even the small details are luxurious.
This Premium Car is the only one in the entire formation. And a dedicated attendant rides this car alone.
And it only costs 500 yen—what a deal!
By the way, Keihan doesn’t charge any extra for express service.
The 8000 series “Love Double-Decker” is also fantastic, and it’s hard to believe it’s free.
Double-decker—impressive, right? (just wanted to say it).
Bonus: Yodo Station platform and the under-renovation Kyoto Racecourse. The horse racing fan in me is excited…!
